Sanika Mulye

Sanika is a third-year Economics student at the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics, with a keen interest in specializing in Finance and Insurance. This past summer, Sanika worked as a Business Development Intern at Illuminate Universe, a small educational consulting firm based in Toronto. Illuminate maintains partnerships with industry giants such as RBC, Deloitte Canada, CPA Ontario, and Concentra Bank, all with the shared goal of boosting student career development. As an intern, Sanika assisted in business development initiatives for a youth educational consulting group by conducting market research, analyzing industry trends, and actively contributing to the successful execution of various projects. In particular, Sanika pioneered the introduction of a new curriculum focused on financial literacy and personal investing by engaging stakeholders, collecting feedback, and thereby diversifying the company's educational offerings. Furthermore, the company offered weekly workshops in order to prepare students with the necessary skills to succeed in the corporate world. Through this experience, Sanika gained valuable skills including market research, financial literacy, value investing, fundamentals of excel, and e-commerce. Sanika grew up in Mississauga, Ontario and then moved to Oakville, where she graduated from TL Kennedy Secondary School. In her spare time, she enjoys trying new cuisines, reading, baking, and reading upon interesting news topics.
